Building A Shared Vision
Almost every company has a vision and mission statement. Unfortunately, there is confusion between the terms, and people will make up their own interpretations.
We look at vision as an overarching concept under which a variety of other concepts reside. Implementing vision requires an environment of relationship and trust that can continually produce innovation. Our model is adapted from Collins & Porras’ perspective on Visionary Leadership. In their view, vision consists of two major components -- a Guiding Philosophy and a Tangible Image.
The Guiding Philosophy, within the context of expected future environments, leads to a Tangible Image.

The guiding philosophy consists of the purpose and core values and beliefs. This is where the vision conversation. The guiding philosophy permeates the organization, impacting the organization’s decisions, policies, and actions throughout all phases of its evolution.
The tangible image consists of a mission that clearly focuses the efforts of the organization and a vivid description through which the mission is made more alive and engaging.

Visionary leaders lead from the future. They are not interested in small, incremental results. They are interested in breaking away from their competition to ensure their long-term sustainability by being number one in their markets.
Visionary leadership is not about power. It is about contribution to the whole. These leaders intentionally strive to bring forth Breakaway Innovations® that continually challenge their organization and their competition. They constantly work in service of their people and their customers in that order. Visionary leaders understand that an empowered workforce is extremely important to winning new customers, keeping existing customers and employees.
Leading from vision means creating, with others, a vision that brings forth the best the team has to offer and the ability to hold up that vision in front of the organization until it is realized. Our Vision Alignment Process helps visionary leaders develop the competency to:
Our Process serves to empower visionary leadership at all levels of the organization by developing profound interconnections between all members of the organization. This allows the leadership inherent in everyone to be fully self-expressed in a way that allows creative and innovative solutions to be developed.
Visionary leaders appreciate the world is in constant flux and the need to build agile organizations that can anticipate and adapt to an ever-changing market environment.
The scope and power of the vision created by the leadership team is a key factor that differentiates one company’s performance from another.
